I have fond memories of Sunday afternoons at home watching old movies with dad on the TV. He particularly loved 1940's movies particularly in black and white. He'd point out to me how the lighting created effective moods and dramatic shadows and brought out beautiful bone structure and expressions in the actors faces. I myself also have a love of those movies and when I see them it always reminds me of Dad. One movie in particular that comes to mind, (it's on TV tomorrow!) is "A Matter of Life & Death" by Powell & Pressburger that bursts into colour in the heaven sequences.
